On the evening of Good Friday the Epitaph, decorated with flowers by the village women, is carried through the lanes with the church choir and the band, and people follow with candles. Easter fills Metsovo; in 2024 it was among the mainland destinations with rising demand. Easter falls on 2 May 2027 and 16 April 2028.

Metsovo cooking rests on pies, 'the triumph of Vlach cooking' as Wace and Thompson wrote in 1914, with leek pie counted as the Metsovo pie, and on roast meat.
