WHERE
Agios Nikolaos monastery

A monastery first recorded in the 14th century, below the village near the Metsovitikos river. Most of the church frescoes date from 1702, by the painter Efstathios, and in 1800 a chapel was added for the New Martyr Nikolaos of Metsovo. Today it belongs to the Votsa monastery, whose monks also tend its vineyard.
