Metsovo cooking rests on pies, 'the triumph of Vlach cooking' as Wace and Thompson wrote in 1914, with leek pie counted as the Metsovo pie, and on roast meat. Around the square, tavernas and grills are known for kontosouvli, kokoretsi, sausage, lamb chops and boiled goat; hand-cut chylopites pasta and trahanas are among the local products.
We do not list taverns we have not checked; when you arrive, the hostess will tell you where we eat. The walk back from the square after dinner is downhill.
