Karakoli's single chairlift was built in 1968 and has been run by the Baron Michael Tositsas Foundation ever since: it climbs from 1,340 to 1,585 metres over 3 pistes for beginners and advanced skiers, and also carries people who only go up for the view. At Politses, on Profitis Ilias (1,360–1,620 m), there are 5 runs, drag lifts and a snow-tubing lane.

WHO IT SUITS

  • anyone who wants to ski five minutes from the village
  • children: snow tubing and the chairlift ride

PRACTICAL

According to the municipality's page, the lift runs 09:30–15:45, €3 one way for sightseers and €4 for skiers. We found no online notice of opening for 2026–27; write to us and we will tell you whether it is running.

A CAVEAT

The municipal page dates from 2020 and allovergreece is undated. It is unclear whether Karakoli and Politses are one area or two; ⚠ ask the hostess. On 19 Oct 2026 the Region approved the 'operation, upgrade and expansion' of the ski area at Karakoli (Y45).

Averoff Gallery

A museum of 19th- and 20th-century Greek painting, open since 27 August 1988, with more than 700 works; about 250 hang permanently, from Gyzis and Lytras to Parthenis, Ghikas, Moralis and Tetsis.
